On Today’s episode, Jon discusses the recent failure in entertainment media to shove SJW rhetoric down our throats. He talks about BioWare, Marvel, and Doctor Who. This episode is for all the nerds out there.
This is a continuation of the of the previous episode regarding art, art history, western civilization, and art standards. It focuses on the history of Rome and it’s views on art and the objectives of art.
Can there be objective standards in art? Is art only about “expressing one’s self”? Or is that a relatively modern invention that is more a symptom of a degenerate philosophy that denies objective truth and morality? I think in order to understand the western idea of beauty and art, we must understand where it probably began… Ancient Greece.
Today’s episode is kind of weird and different as it is something more along the lines of my day job. Art. Modern art is a sad shadow of what art used to be; a quest for the beautiful. But the confusing and abolition of standards in the art world is just a reflection of the abolition of moral and ethical standards in general.
